How Hawaii state senators voted on HB 444, SD 1, the Same-Sex Civil Unions Bill, in January 2010.

How Hawaii state representatives voted on HB 444, SD 1, the Same-Sex Civil Unions Bill, in April 2010 (pdf). With this vote, the bill passed both houses of the heavily Democratic legislature, then was sent to Governor Linda Lingle's (R) desk, where it was vetoed. The veto prevented it from becoming law, but the issue is expected to be revived, likely in 2011, by same-sex marriage supporters.

How Hawaii state senators voted on the appointment of Katherine Leonard to Hawaii supreme court chief justice on Aug 6, 2010. The vote went against Leonard, 14 - 8.
