How Hawaii state representatives voted on HB 444, SD 1, the Same-Sex Civil Unions Bill, in April 2010 (pdf). With this vote, the bill passed both houses of the heavily Democratic legislature, thenwas sent to Governor Linda Lingle's (R) desk, where it was vetoed. The veto prevented it from becoming law, but the issue is expected to be revived, likely in 2011, by same-sex marriage supporters.
