Depleted Uranium Confirmed in Hawaii

Schofield Barracks and Pohakuloa have depleted uranium (DU). The U.S. Army says the DU is from years past and denies using DU munitions in Hawaii now. But high radioactive readings taken downwind of the Pohakuloa Training Area on the Big Island indicate otherwise, says specialist Dr. Leuren Moret.

Big Island meeting with NRC on DU (Video & short article.) David McIntyre, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Public Affairs, confirms that there is depleted uranium in Hawaii, at Schofield Barracks on Oahu and at the Pohakuloa Training Area on the Big Island.
