Tania Kehau Cortez-Camero

Republican   Running for Hawaii House of Representatives, District 3 — South Hilo, Panaewa, Puna, Keaau, Kurtistown

Tania graduated from Waiakea High School in 2003 and continued her education at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.  After graduating with a bachelor of arts in political science and a minor in communication from UH Hilo, Tania continued on to the University of Hawaii at M?noa where she graduated with a bachelor of arts in Hawaiian studies.

During her junior year at Waiakea High School, Tania was privileged to attend Aha Opio o OHA, a Native Hawaiian legislative experience, as a student legislator.  At the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Tania was elected as the senator of Ka Haka Ula O Keelikolani and later as the treasurer of the University of Hawaii at Hilo Student Association (UHHSA).  While holding office in UHHSA, Tania was part of the legislative committee that effectively advocated on behalf of the students of UH Hilo for the new Science and Technology Building and the Student Life Center.

During the 2010 state legislative session Tania got to experience firsthand the inner workings of the legislature while serving as a legislative aide in the House of Representatives.  She pledges to be an advocate for her constituents in the state House of Representatives District 3 and moreover for the citizens of the state of Hawaii.
