- Tom Berg (ran as a Republican for District 42 house seat [Waipahu-Ewa area] in the general election and lost against Democratic incumbent Rida Cabanilla Arakawa)
- Kioni Dudley, Ph.D., saving agricultural land champion. Works tirelessly to save prime agricultural land in District 1 from turning into the Hoopili development. Former Republican lieutenant governor candidate.

- Mel Kahele (Lobbyist for Local 625, Ironworkers Union)
- Celeste (Lacaden) Lacuesta (ran in 2010 primary election as Democrat for state senate District 20 [Ewa Beach area], lost to fellow Democrat & incumbent Will Espero) Video interview

- Matthew LoPresti (Hawaii Pacific University assistant professor of philosophy and humanities)

- Bob McDermott Republican who had no problem campaigning in 2010 for such Democrats as Mufi Hannemann (running for governor and lost) and Will Espero (incumbent running for Hawaii senate and won). Both were running against McDermott's fellow Republicans.
