Incumbent Brickwood Galuteria Faces Rough Challenge from Chris Lethem

Incumbent Brickwood Galuteria (D), senate majority leader in the state legislature, is being opposed this election by Chris Lethem (R) for District 12 (Waikiki, Ala Moana, Kaka‘ako, McCully & Mo‘ili‘ili). Both have agreed publicly to a debate, but with the election on our heels, nothing's been scheduled.

What appears to be the opening salvo by Chris Lethem happened at the Waikiki Board meeting on September 9. Brickwood Galuteria, who is known for his special interest in kupuna issues, taking a leading role in the Olelo public service kupuna series among other activities on behalf of kupuna, introduces himself at the 32 minute 55 second mark, followed by Chris, who takes off the gloves. The pair are next heard from at the 58 minute 16 second mark and then give their closing remarks at the 1 hour 23 minute 15 second mark.

Chris has a copy of what he said at the board meeting on his campaign website. Click here to see it.

The next Waikiki Board meeting is scheduled for 7pm, Tuesday, October 14, at the Waikiki Community Center, 310 Paoakalani Avenue.
